Intestinal dysbiosis is a general imbalance of the intestinal microbiota. SIBO is a specific subtype: an overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine (where normally very few bacteria are present). To assess overall dysbiosis, the Clinical Gut Microbiome is the most comprehensive test available.

¿Where is it done?

We explain how it works — it’s very simple:
1.- Buy your test online: once the payment is completed, you will receive a confirmation email and an invoice in your email inbox.
2.- Visit your nearest center: with your email and/or invoice (you can show it on your phone), come to any of our Laboratorio Echevarne centers. No appointment is required.
3.- Professional sample collection: our specialized staff will take the sample quickly and safely.

Descripción

Coeliac disease is a chronic autoimmune disorder triggered by the ingestion of gluten. In genetically predisposed individuals, the immune system damages the intestinal lining, impairing nutrient absorption. The genetic gluten intolerance test identifies whether you have this hereditary predisposition to coeliac disease.

Unlike a functional gluten intolerance test, this genetic test provides a definitive result: if the result is negative, it virtually rules out the possibility of developing coeliac disease. It is especially useful in uncertain diagnoses and, in many cases, helps avoid an intestinal biopsy.

¿Is it suitable for me?

This test is for you if: You experience frequent digestive symptoms without a clear diagnosis. You have close relatives with coeliac disease. You have received inconclusive serology or biopsy results. You want to know whether you have non-coeliac gluten intolerance or confirmed genetic coeliac disease.

How does it work?

Frequently Asked Questions

How is coeliac disease diagnosed in adults?

The adult coeliac disease test combines antibody testing (anti-tissue transglutaminase IgA and anti-endomysial antibodies), the genetic predisposition test for coeliac disease (HLA DQ2/DQ8), and, if positive, an intestinal biopsy. The genetic test is particularly useful because a negative result rules out the disease with a 99% Negative Predictive Value (NPV).

What is the difference between coeliac disease, gluten sensitivity and non-coeliac gluten intolerance?

Coeliac disease is an autoimmune disease that causes confirmed intestinal damage. Non-coeliac gluten intolerance or non-coeliac gluten sensitivity causes similar symptoms but without intestinal damage or HLA markers. The genetic gluten intolerance test detects only the hereditary basis of coeliac disease.

What is the genetic test for coeliac disease predisposition?

It is the most reliable genetic gluten intolerance test available: it analyses the HLA DQ2.5 and HLA DQ8 haplotypes associated with genetic predisposition to coeliac disease. Their absence rules out...

Can I carry the coeliac disease genes without having coeliac disease?

Yes. Up to 30% of the general population carry the HLA DQ2/DQ8 markers, but only 1–3% develop coeliac disease. Environmental triggers, in addition to genetic predisposition, are required for the disease to develop.

For who is this test?

Patients with compatible symptoms or relatives of celiacs.

¿Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?

No, just go to the center for the blood draw.
