The EXTENDED NIPT is a non-invasive prenatal test that, from the 9th week of pregnancy onwards, detects chromosomal abnormalities, triploidies, aneuploidies, and clinically relevant microdeletions through a simple maternal blood test.

We explain how it works — it’s very simple:
1.- Buy your test online: once the payment is completed, you will receive a confirmation email and an invoice in your email inbox.
2.- Visit your nearest center: with your email and/or invoice (you can show it on your phone), come to any of our Laboratorio Echevarne centers. No appointment is required.
3.- Professional sample collection: our specialized staff will take the sample quickly and safely.

Descripción

The EXTENDED NIPT, also known as extended NIPT, is a non-invasive prenatal test that analyzes cell-free fetal DNA in maternal blood from the 9th week of pregnancy, adding the study of clinically relevant chromosomal microdeletions to the standard NIPT.

What does it detect?

•Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome), and trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome)
•Monosomy X (Turner syndrome) · Sex chromosome aneuploidies (XXX, XXY, XYY) · Fetal sex
•22q11.2 microdeletion · 1p36 monosomy · Cri-du-Chat syndrome · Prader-Willi syndrome · Angelman
syndrome · Triploidy.
It is indicated only for singleton pregnancies. It is not available for twin pregnancies. In such cases, please refer to the NIPT Special Cases or NIPT Special Cases PLUS.

Prepare yourself

Fasting is not required.

Once you have your report, consult a healthcare professional who can interpret it with you and, if necessary, create a personalized action plan.

Interpretation of the results:
Low risk: confirms with 99% certainty that the fetus does not have the analyzed syndromes, although it does not rule out 100% other alterations.
High risk: it is essential to consult your gynecologist. Confirmation requires a definitive diagnostic test, such as amniocentesis.

What additional anomalies does the EXTENDED TPNI detect?

In addition to common trisomies, the EXTENDED NIPT detects important microdeletions such as 22q11.2, Monosomy 1p36, Cri-du-Chat Syndrome, Prader-Willi Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome, and Triploidy.

Is the EXTENDED TPNI suitable for twin pregnancies or egg donation?

No, the EXTENDED NIPT is intended only for singleton pregnancies and is not available for twin pregnancies or pregnancies conceived through egg donation. For these situations, please refer to the NIPT Special Cases.

How is the EXTENDED TPNI performed?

It is done through a simple blood draw from the mother, making it a safe and non-invasive method for the fetus.

When can the results of the EXTENDED TPNI be obtained?

Results are usually available within 8 business days, although sometimes the timeframe may be extended due to technical requirements.

What does a "Low risk" result mean in the EXTENDED TPNI?

It indicates that the fetus has a 99% probability of not having the syndromes analyzed, although it does not completely rule out the presence of chromosomal abnormalities. As with any screening test, there is a minimal possibility of a false positive or false negative.

Do I need a medical request to undergo the EXTENDED TPNI?

Yes, to carry out this test it is necessary to have a medical request.
